Description
These demitasse cups and saucers are rather unusual for Mappin and Webb who are famed for their glassware, silverware and jewellery. This set were made for The Jockey Club in the 1910s
These cups are beautifully dainty and look splendid with the blue and gold colouring. The golden horse is a bright mark on the inside of all the cups and saucers and is finished with a golden halo. Each cup and saucer have the same distinctive blue banding with the gold edge to finish.
They are in very good to excellent condition with no blemishes of note, other than slight age related wear and no chips and cracks. The cups are 7.5cm in diameter across the handle and 5.5cm in height. The saucers are 11.5cm in diameter.
All in all, quite a rare find and in great condition to boot.
As most of our items are antique or vintage, we cannot guarantee all items are in pristine condition and whilst we will flag any significant imperfections, the old mark, dent or nibble may pass through. Please be aware of this when purchasing our vintage items
