14 Piece Japanese Mikori Eggshell Porcelain Tea Set – Good to Very Good Condition

This is a recent arrival at the boutique – this is a beautiful Japanese Mikori tea set

It is difficult to date the item, though we would think that it was most likely have been made in the early to mid 20th century. It is in overall good condition with blemishes noted below. It has a bluebird motif on most of the pieces and is brightly coloured.

There are fourteen pieces, 6 cups and saucers, a teapot and a sugar bowl

The teapot stands 19cm tall and is made from eggshell effect porcelain. It is in good to very good condition.
The cups are 5cm in diameter and 5.5cm tall. One has a hairline crack and one has a slight chip on the inside of the cup
The saucers are 11cm in diameter and in good condition. Some appear to have some nibbles to the base of the plate.
The sugar bowl is 10cm tall to its finial and 14cm at its widest point. It has a hairline crack on its lid.

All in all it’s a great Japanese tea set and not only in good condition, but fantastically coloured and detailed
