Description
This is a recent arrival at the boutique. This charming small children’s dining room occasional chair with a square rush and wicker seat was probably made during the 19th century.
The fabric is in good condition for its age and is filled with a natural and probably original rush grass underside with wicker top. It is not clear if this has been recovered over the years but we suggest that it probably has been but some time ago. The wooden base is a very substantial wood though the stability of the chair lends itself to occasional use given its age. The wooden edges are finished with roundheaded furniture pins. Considering its age, the seating itself is in very good condition and is showing barely any signs of wear on the material.
