Antique Majolica Large Wall Plate. Roses and Cobalt Blue. High Relief. 19th Century.

Description

This is an antique majolica wall plate. It is decorated with pink and cream roses and stems. They are set in high relief. Due to it’s age and as expected, there are some issues. There are some chips to the roses and stems, along with age related crazing. There are what appears to be some missing decoration.

This wall plate was made during the late 1800s and has survived quite well when taking that into account. We have made an attempt to clean it but it will require a more thorough clean.

This is a highly collectable wall plate and a very rare item. Due to the condition, please be aware that this is reflected in the price.

Dimensions: Approx. 41cm diameter. (Plate = 4.5cm tall). Largest Rose = 13cm wide x 7.5cm tall, Leaf stem = 33cm in length.
