Copper Plate Boatyard Scene – Ex Clock Face – Etched – Good Condition

This a curious piece we have had some time now at the Boutique. This is an etched bronze plated piece of artwork that we believe was previously a clock face at some time as all the tick marks are still present on the plate.

The scene is that of a large boat or barge with two figures upon it. There is the shell of another boat in the background and other bits of wood at and flotsam in the water. A very tranquil, yet curious piece.

It is in overall good condition. We believe it to date from the 1960s, though pieces like this are notoriously hard to date. There are signs of age-related wear, to be expected, though nothing significant that we can pinpoint on.

A great little piece for that space on the bookshelf, or maybe a variation on a theme for a boat or water lover!
