Metamorphic Vintage Side Table/Firescreen with Embroidered Sampler Panel depicting English Cottage Garden – Good Condition

This is an usual metamorphic British side table/fireplace screen, possibly from the 1950s, having an English Country Garden setting

The motif is hand-embroidered with a variety of stitching techniques, commonly known as a “sampler”, though these were usually made by children, this one is more likely to be an adult. The glass screen is in very good condition. There is a large feint stain to the bottom quarter of the piece, which is highlighted in the picture, though this is more than made up by the fact that, being a metamorphic piece, the fire screen doubles up as a side table when necessary being held up by two clips at the rear. The rear is pinned and is in good condition. The piece overall is in good condition.
