Description
This is a great piece of Japanese ceramic! We think this item is probaly from the 1950s or 1960s and made for the Japanese export market.
The urn is highly detailed and has several scenes depicted on it and the hues are mainly orange, gold, brown, black and white.
There is a “handpainted Satsuma” mark stamped on the base, and the finish of the entire vase is most definitely handpainted. There are few if any significant signs of blemishes, chips or cracks, though the outer painted layer has come away from the urn top in a couple of patches.
A great eyecatching item and a rare opportunity to have such a detailed Satsuma vase!
As most of our items are antique or vintage, we cannot guarantee all items are in pristine condition and whilst we will flag any significant imperfections, the old mark, dent or nibble may pass through. Please be aware of this when purchasing our vintage items
