Vintage Chinese Foo Dogs/ Temple Lions. Set of 4.

Description

This wonderful family of vintage foo dogs or temple dogs are in acceptable condition for their age. They all have age related crazing of varying degrees. Also some have cracks and the large dog has a chip to its face. Please examine photos carefully. We have tried to show as best we can all the known defects. Even with these defects, they still make a wonderful display.

These items were very popular in the 50s, 60s and 70s and are a cross between dogs and dragons. They are developed from Buddhism and are meant to guard tombs or houses and ward off evil spirits from entering.

Dimensions. Approximately: 1x Large = 26cm tall x 23cm head to tail x 15cm across widest front.
2 x medium = 22cm tall x 19cm head to tail x 11cm across widest front.
1 x small = 13.5cm tall x 10cm head to tail x 7cm across widest front.
