Now here’s an eyecatching imposing picture of a Carrack Sailing. The media is hues of White, Yellow and Orange oils on a Black Felt background and it adds to the gravity of what is a fairly simply painted piece.
It is in good to very good condition, the only flaw being the felt in need of a slight restrectch. Even without this, it is still in perfectly hangable condition and would definitely be a conversation piece for fresh eyes.
The piece is quite large – 65cm height by 94cm wide. The reverse could do with a retaping too, but again, this is only more to maintain the piece.
This would make a great gift for a ship or naval lover, or someone who likes their art dramatic and eyecatching.
