Vintage Cobblers Shoe Lasts – Industrial, Iron, Various Materials, Conditions

Price range: £30.00 through £44.00

Description

Shoe lasts were used predominately during the Industrial Revolution primarily for the manufacture of shoes and boots. They are still made today, though our selection is from more of a vintage era from when most shoes were still made and repaired by cobblers.

They are usually made of cast iron or wood and in their original state can show signs of rust or patina. They tend to be rather weighty and would be a great vintage find for a shoesmith or cobbler or repurposed to make a great bookend or tasteful doorstop for a country cottage!

The selection we currently have available is as follows:-

Larger cast iron lasts sold singularly, usually with some sort of patina. They are usually around 15-20cm in size for length, weight and height and usually weigh around 3 kg

The smaller lasts we have here are impressed with the marks, 41/2 and 1 5. These are also made of cast iron and measure, (41/2) = 13.5cm tall x 12cm the other is, 11cm tall x 4cm.

Wonderful pieces for a collector.

As most of our items are antique or vintage, we cannot guarantee all items are in pristine condition and whilst we will flag any significant imperfections, the old mark, dent or nibble may pass through. Please be aware of this when purchasing our vintage items

Thanks for looking.
