Description
This is a recent arrival at the boutique. This Victorian Dining chair pair are in very good to excellent condition with very little in the way of marking, and in very good usable condition for a sympathetic decorative room.
The fabric is in very good condition for its age and has likely to have been reupholstered at some point. The seat is filled with more of a foam-like material covered in a clean and crisp, off-white cotton. It has a gold coloured gimp edged decor. It is not clear if this has been recovered over the years but we suggest that it probably has been but some time ago. The wooden base is made from a teak or a mahogany and has two very ornate turned wood spindle legs at the front, and two simpler curved legs at the back. The chair back replicates the cylindrical turned wood from the front to finish off the open squared-back to provide a very sturdy seat. Considering its age, it is in very good condition and is showing barely any signs of wear on the material.
