Description
We believe this brass helmet-shaped coal scuttle to be made around the Georgian era to early 20th century.
It is quite large, has a fully mobile handle (38cm tall when raised, 31cm when lowered) and also a brass handle to the rear to help with tipping out the coal. It has been well used over it’s time and there are of course the usual patina, dents and marking.
This is a fine example of from the period and as such, may require a polish up if so desired. It would very elegant by an inglenook fireside.
Measurements, 38cm tall (with handle at full height) x 55cm long x approx. 32cm widest point
Thanks for looking.
